You take charge at work; at the club; at the pool party! (Fan crack!) Therefore, its time to take charge of your health! Take charge and enjoy free HIV testing at One Magical Weekend! Then get tested for HIV and other STDs regularly. First, ask your doctor and make sure your being testing for HIV and STDs routinely. Second, be honest about your sexual history. Free HIV testing at One Magical Weekend…but what about the rest of the year?

Did you know about all the options to help prevent HIV? Read on to find out what works best for you!

Undetectable Equals Untransmittable was created by The Prevention Access Campaign to educate people about science that has been around for years. Studies show that if someone is HIV+, takes their medication regularly and achieves an undetectable viral load for over 6 months, that they cannot transmit the virus. To clarify, the CDC states “(undetectable individuals) have effectively no risk of sexually transmitting the virus to an HIV-negative partner”.  #UequalsU #ScienceNotStigma

PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) – PrEP is a medical regimen that includes routine doctor visits, labs and taking 1 pill once a day to prevent HIV. When taken daily, data shows that its over 90% effective at reducing HIV transmission. There are many was to get PrEP. Your doctor/healthcare provider and many nonprofits are now offering it. Condoms – Using condoms with both of the above HIV prevention strategies is recommended. In addition, condoms also help prevent STIs. Now there is even an internal condom option! Other Ways – Plus there are a million other ways to have a great time sexually AND prevent HIV. In other words, let your mind run wild with this one. For example, there’s heavy petting, role play, mutual masturbation, abstinence, massage, rope – the only thing that limits you is your imagination! Above all, have a healthy conversation about sexual boundaries, safe sex practices and consent!
